Art, Science and Spirituality
Music has been a part of all things in the powers of the universe. Vibrations that come from many galaxies far away touch our bodies, mind, and soul. If the right frequencies were not perfect for Life on Earth, we would not survive. The sounds and music reflect into themselves, as we can reflect on our own spirits, and be touched by the spiritual giving that all vibration nourishes.
Music therapy has the potential to play a large role in the treatment of stress-related diseases and other medical diseases in all age groups. Different types of music or rhythm seem to have different effects on the body’s physiology. Music therapy has global implications and exists in many different cultures. Rhythm, for example, is a key component in African music. Music therapy sessions exist in East Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern cultures and are helpful in treating several different physiological conditions. Music therapy is an excellent resource for any medical, sociological, or psychiatric practice. It is non-invasive, helpful for all ages and an important adjunct to other therapeutic modalities.
Over my lifetime I have discovered music to be a very spiritual process, whether I move my fingers over the strings of a violin, hum a gentile theme, or dance to a beautiful rhythm that comes from harmony and oneness. We are all touched by the power of music.
